shane_carwin_1mainOn March 7th UFC 96 has put together a fight to secure a top spot amongst the heavyweight division. Shane “MONSTER” Carwin is looking to maintain his perfect 10-0 record against the ever dangerous Gabriel Gonzaga.

Carwin has had numerous pro fights finish under 1 minute and no fight leaving the first. Gonzaga has plenty of first round wins but has a higher loss percentage in the later rounds leaving him at 10-3. Gonzaga is looking to continue his win streak as Carwin wants to let UFC fans know this “MONSTER” is for real.

Carwin with his superior striking and dominant wrestling and Gonzaga with dangerous kicks and excellent jiu-jitsu can have similar game plans which will make for a great fight.

MMA fans could not have asked for a better matchup to test the skills of these two highly skilled fighters.

Regardless of the game plan, these fighters are in for a war. Both have the tools to finish this fight at any given time and this will be a devastating defeat for either fighter as they climb their way up the heavyweight ladder.

The heavyweight division is quickly becoming stacked with premier fighters and is no longer the UFC weight class with the lack of talent. With many up and coming fighters as well as seasoned veterans the winner of this fight will have another challenger waiting in line.

Come March 7th UFC fans will wait no longer. The MONSTER and Gonzaga will enter the cage with only one thing on their mind, what they have to do to win.

This is a very interesting fight given the lack of octagon experience for Carwin. The UFC has confidence he is ready for a fight with the likes of Gonzaga and as I see it this is there way of measuring Shanes ability. I will be supporting Shane, but this fight worries me. Is Shane truly ready for Gonzaga???
