In front of a standing room only crowd at Softball Country, Colorado and Nebraska went toe to toe for bragging rights as Fight To Win delivered another stellar night of fights. All Fotos Here!
In the main event of the evening, the Fight To Win Pro Heavyweight Title was up for grabs as Jeff “BIG DISEL” Ford and Abe “HURRICANE” Wagner did battle.
We started this match-up with Ford landing some big strikes then tossing the HUGE Wagner to the canvas and immediately followed up with some GNP.
The Hurricane instantly moved on to his Jiu-Jitsu to pull in a text book arm bar at the 49 second mark of round 1.
Wagner became the new Heavyweight Title holder and appears to have a bright future in the heavyweight division. With his tremendous size and a professional record of 8-2, I would keep an eye on the weather forecast nearest you because this “HURRICANE” could be on a UFC card very soon.
In the co-main event of the evening Chaun Simms faced off against Anthony Smith of Nebraska. This fight went straight to the ground with Simms taking the back of Smith and delivering some GNP.
Simms continued with GNP then transitioned to mount then back control, all with complete domination. Smith continued to take the punishment only covering up but not necessarily defending.
The referee let the action continue despite a few spectators in the crowd pleading for him to“stop the fight”. Simms proceeded with the battering threw the remainder of round 1.
Round two started where round one left off as Simms took his opponent back to the canvas and returned to his battering of Smith with a wide array of weapons. Smith had no answer to the chastisement and the ref finally called a stop to the action at the 2:00 mark of the second round. Simms took home his first professional win in a very impressive fashion.
Robert “EL MARTILLO” Martinez put his Fight To Win Amateur 170 lb Title on the line against Tambora Gerl in a battle of Colorado fighters.
Gerl began with a few good strikes to the face of Martinez followed by a take down but Martinez had no problem rising to his feet. Just as Martinez stood upright Gerl landed an illegal knee to the head and the ref called a halt to the action. Gerl was warned as there are no knees allowed to the head in a Colorado amateur bout.
The action was restarted and it was Martinez landing a few solid shots. Then once again Gerl shot in for the take down but Martinez worked to neutralize the GNP of Gerl and got the fight back to the feet where he seemed comfortable.
The fighters had a short exchange of strikes when Gerl landed another illegal knee to the head at which time the referee called for a one point deduction as he had been warned just minutes earlier.
Martinez took a brief moment to gain his composure and within a minute or so he was ready to continue.
The action went back to the center of the ring as El Martillo unleashed a combination of strikes sending Gerl to the canvas. Martinez immediately pounced on his opponent allowing him no time to recover.
After Martinez’s GNP was put into action a stop was called at 2:33 into the first round.
Prentice Ingram locked horns with the undefeated and highly regarded Drew Dober for the Fight To Win 145 lb Amateur Title. This was a non stop, fast paced, action packed fight. Both fighters started the action in the clinch driving knees and strikes into one another working for leverage.
Nearing the end of the first stanza, Ingram took the fight to the ground and began to establish some ground control as Dober threw up-kicks from his back for the rest of the first round.
Dober started the second round with a front kick and Ingram returned with a round kick of his own. They continued kick for kick and blow for blow with neither fighter willing to back down.
Dober decided to take the fight to the ground with a big slam and quickly moved to side control. Dober began a dominant display of GNP with smooth transitions from mount to back control with a variety of strikes and RNC attempts to finish the second round.
Dober began the third round with a big left kick and proceeded with some swift strikes while Ingram maintained his position and countered with some punishment of his own.
Midway through the round, Dober successfully shoots for the takedown and quickly moved to side control then the mount delivering accurate strikes.
Dober began to take over and Ingram was looking to stop the dominance as both fighters showed a spectacular display of well rounded MMA skills.
Drew Dober kept his undefeated record intact moving to 12-0 and capturing the 145lb FTW crown.
Ian Berg defeated Zach Johnson in a very quick 35 seconds of round 1 by KO
Matt Simms defeated Cory Villalobos due to leg lock 2:42 round 1
Rory O’Farrell defeated Xavier Saccomanno by unanimous decision.
Mark Mickles defeated Aaron Trujillo by unanimous decision.
Zac Chavez defeated Joel Mickels by unanimous decision.
Louis Loydd defeated John James by KO 1:59 in round 2.
JJ Mondragon defeated Brandon Pfannenstiel by unanimous decision.
Josh Orndorff defeated Jason Minor by triangle choke at 1:04 of round 2.
Justin Griffis defeated Kevin Elliot by RNC 2:10 round 2.
