When two legends of the sport enter the octagon to do battle, MMA fans across the country lick their chops in anticipation.

Not just legends of the game, but future hall of famers.

Dan Henderson better known as “Hendo” was the first fighter to ever simultaneously hold two titles in two weight classes when he reigned supreme atop the Middleweight (203lbs.) and Welterweight (184lbs) division in the PRIDE organization.

Rick “Ace” Franklin on the other hand is the former UFC Middleweight Champion who has a list of who’s who amongst MMA’s top tier talent on his stellar resume.   Franklin has a flawless record with his only 3 defeats coming at the hands of Anderson Silva (2 losses) and Lyoto Machida.

Their is no doubt that the Dublin, Ireland fans will be in for a treat when these two lock horns at the O2 Arena in what many fight fans wanted to see years ago.  This has been described as a “Dream Match” by many because of the long awaited bout.

It was Hendo that held the PRIDE Welterweight crown while Ace was the man in the UFC Middleweight division so fans were left to dream since the two fighter fought for rival organizations.

The dream became a possibility when PRIDE was bought out by Zuffa and the UFC organization.  Henderson was immediately signed by the UFC and the match-up became a reality.
