Kick Down 59 kicked off the year in spectacular fashion with a great night of MMA fights.

With 11 bouts scheduled on the card entitled “CLASH” and 5 title fights, the match-ups kept spectators on their feet through out the night with the main event featuring World Combat League veteran and current Kick Down Champion Colby Synder taking on Nick Mozes of Nebraska.

It took Snyder just 23 seconds to find his mark and land a devastating left knee to drop his opponent.

Snyder immediately followed up with a combination of strikes to assure Mozes was out and going to remain out.

In the co main event Brenton Swanson and Travis Linsacum entered the cage to battle for the Kick Down Junior Lightweight title.

Both fighters began with a short stint of stand up action to figure out the best possible mode of attack. Linsacum seemed to have had enough of the nonsense and shot in to take down Swanson slamming him to the canvas with tremendous force.

The brutal slam did not seem to faze Swanson as he quickly reversed Linsacum swiftly adjusting to the mount. Swanson moved on to some ground and pound then back control before sinking in the right arm for the rear naked choke.

Linsacum did a great job of maintaining wrist control forcing Swanson to give up on the choke despite his efforts to effectively choke Linsacum with one arm and diligently working to free the other.

Swanson reversed his arms immediately sliding his left arm under the chin to lock in the match ending rear naked choke at the 2:14 mark of the first round.

The Kick Down Featherweight title was on the line as Matt Vigil of Elite Team AMA took on Nick Medina of Z’s Training Gym in Fort Collins.

Medina wanted this fight on the ground and for good reason as he wasted no time sinking in a rear naked choke with just 1 minute and 14 seconds gone in the bout after softening his opponent up with a few strikes forcing Vigil to tap as there was no way to escape the grasp of Medina.

Z’s Training gym is beginning to make a name for themselves  in the Kick Down fight promotion as Medina took home their second title of the night as well as having explosive fighters winning in the under card.

Chris Saucedo defended his Kick Down Welterweight title against Mark Gettler as both fighters began the first round exchanging strikes and kicks but neither Saucedo nor Gettler landing anything significant.

Gettler decided to attempt a take down but Saucedo greeted him with a hip toss as Gettler locked in his hooks during the take down.

Gettler secured the rear naked choke 91 seconds into the first round as he became the new Kick Down Welterweight champion.

Chris Dollbaum and Shaun Ogle kicked off the first title fight of the evening, as they did battle for the Kick Down light heavyweight crown.

Dollbaum forced the action as he wanted to take this fight to the ground from the start and it took a couple tries to do so, but once the fight did hit the mat Dollbaum began to work his ground and pound before the bell saved Ogle from added punishment.
